Fort Lauderdale fun plus wrecks and reefs

Greater Fort Lauderdale is not only home to 23 miles of golden sand beaches but also to an array of dive sites and marine life. USS Orkiskany - Florida West Coast

Sport Diver trips to the artificial reef USS Oriskany -- the aircraft carrier known as the Might O, which was sunk to create an artificial reef at a depth of 130 feet in May 2006. The Oriskany served in the Vietnam War and is best known to civilians from the movie "Top Gun". Dives are limited to flight deck and island only.

Divers must have a minimum of 30 logged dives or Advanced Certification. Other safety restrictions apply.

Technical Diver trips to the former USS Oriskany: Technical Diver certification through a national recognized certification agency required. All dive plans must be submitted and approved by the captain of the vessel prior to dives.
